• His father was the Trumpeter for the Duke of Eisenach. His entire family was made up of musicians that played various instruments. • His father taught him how to play the violin and harpsichord and his uncle, a famous Organist, taught him to play the organ. • When he was 8 years old he went to Latin Grammar School where he was a member of the boys choir of St. Georgenkirche. • When Bach was about 22 he began working as a chamber musician in the Court of the Duke of Wiemar. • He spent the last 27 years of his life as the Cantor and Director of Music in Leipzig, Germany |
