Need to buy a new recorder?
Students will need their own recorders for use in the classroom. If a student is unable to own a personal recorder, I have a single class set that can be used. These are extra recorders that are used by other students and are cleaned after each use. A student cannot take these home however to practice.
PLEASE do not go to a Dollar Store/Tree or Walmart to buy a recorder. These are sold in the toy isle because they are toys and not instruments. They are always out of tune, break very easily, and will never match the sound of the rest of the class. The recorders we are offering are made of quality materials by companies who specialize in musical instruments.

There are two options for recorders;
Option #1 - Harmony H100 Soprano Recorder (sold by West Music) $4.00
Comes with recorder, fingering chart, cleaning rod, and drawstring case. |
Option #2 - Peripole Halo Baroque Soprano Recorder (sold by Peripole) $8.00
Comes with recorder, fingering chart, cleaning rod, Halo neck strap, and zipper case. |
I HIGHLY recommend ordering more than one recorder so that your child can keep one here at school and have another for at home practice. There is no difference in sound between the two recorders However, having the Peripole recorder with the neck strap is very handy in class because it allows the student to clap rhythms without having to put the recorder on the ground and helps to prevent dropping and breaking the instrument.
If you would like to buy a recorder, please download and print the form below and send a completed form along with the total cost of the selected recorders in an envelope to Mr. Lawrence. If you have any questions please feel free to use the contact tab at the top of the page. Recorder Orders will end on Wednesday January 22, 2020 so that they can be ordered and have them for use in class. Extra recorders will not be ordered.
